Privacy policy
Last updated 24 October 2026
HeaderLoom is a Chrome extension that modifies HTTP headers on your own computer. This policy explains what it does with data. The short version: it collects nothing, and nothing leaves your machine.
What the extension stores
The header rules you create (header names, values, the sites they apply to, and whether they are switched on) are saved in chrome.storage.local on your computer. They are not synced to your Google account and are not sent to us or anyone else. Uninstalling the extension deletes them.
What the extension does not do
- It does not collect, transmit, sell or share personal data, browsing history, page content or network traffic.
- It contains no analytics, tracking, advertising or crash reporting.
- It does not load or run remote code. All code ships inside the package reviewed by the Chrome Web Store.
- It makes no network requests of its own.
Permissions and why they are needed
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
declarativeNetRequest | Lets Chrome apply your header rules. Chrome changes the headers itself; the extension never sees the requests. |
storage | Saves your rules locally. |
| Site access (optional) | Requested only for the sites you add rules for, when you add them. You can remove it at any time in Chrome's extension settings. |
Pro unlock (planned)
A one-time Pro unlock is planned. If you buy it, the extension will send your license key, and nothing else, to the payment provider's license check when you activate it and then at most once every 7 days. Your payment details are handled by that provider, which acts as merchant of record under its own privacy policy. This section will be updated with the provider's name before Pro goes on sale.
Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. HeaderLoom does not use or transfer user data for any purpose other than providing its single purpose of modifying HTTP headers, does not use it for advertising, and does not allow humans to read it.
Support email
If you email support@headerloom.com, we receive your address and message and use them only to answer you. We do not add you to any list.
Changes
